Brush a dark powder eye shadow onto eyelids and smooth a dab of petroleum jelly (Vaseline) on top for a new eye gloss

Use ample amount of skin-priming moisturizers, especially meant for winters, on your face that may have properties to exfoliate gently and lower concentration of alpha hydroxy acids. Night cream should be heavy for winters.

Always sharpen your lip liner before lining your lips then touch the tip of the pencil gently to warm, soften and smooth the point.

If you have oily skin, blot away the excess oil by laying either a tissue or one of the face-blotting papers sold by some cosmetics companies over the face and blotting. Perm endpapers also work well. Do this before you do anything else.

If lip liner is too dark tone it down with a small amount of foundation then reapply lip liner.

Dampen your cosmetics sponge to create a sheer finish.

If your mascara is new and the deposit on the wand is plentiful, tissue off the wand before applying to prevent smudging.
